Well Christmas is apon us and the season is to be merry.
For us this year will have extra happiness than usual. I ended up having a full hysterectmy and my lymph nodes in my groin removed, but was told that the doctor was able to remove ALL of the cancer. So YAY for us.
Michael Brown went a little crazy with the Christmas lights this year. It's funny what the threat of death can turn people to.........most would be booze for us it was Christamas lights!!!
Anyway we went in the Cobar Christmas light compitition andcame second. We won 150 "Cobar Quids".
Which means we have 150 dollars to spend in any shop in Cobar. Still tossing up with what we will do with it.
So other than that my friends it's just the usual humdrum of craziness that involves preparing for Christmas. It has been very hot this year but hopefully it won't be too bad Christmas day. We can put up the baby pool if things get desperate.
Anyway the photo's I've put up are our house on judgement night, the local kids and us trying to take our Christmas pic.
Anyway my darlings take care and hope you all have a very merry chrstmas and will chat soon..................

How hot is it.....

So Summer is here even though it might not be official yet...
So far for the last couple of weeks it has been over 35 degrees, and this week it has been 40 all week.
Aidan has decided that it would be fun to wear his lion's outfit through out this heat and try to eat us all
My mum and dad have come down early for a visit sa next week we are off to Sydney for me to have another operatin as evil cancer just loves me and does not wanted to parted from me. So I'm off to have my lymph nodes in my groin removed. Mum and Dad will catch up with my sister and mum's family. as for Family Brown well Gabby is most excited as the hostel where they are staying on the hospital grounds has a tennis court and swimming pool. As I write she is at school telling the same thing for her news day at school. But with the positive spin that only 7yr old can tell about how exciting the activities will be at the hospital.
So no other news my friends a bit boring, oh we got food poisining on Sunday night just been from dodgy Chinese, that was a fun moment. Mum and Aidan werre the only ones not to get sick. AJ because he wanted vegimite snadwiches and mum well it looks like she could live her life out on the streets of India and be fine. So no Cobar Golf Club food for us any more.
Take care my blogby friends and next time hopefully will have more gossip.
cheers xxxx

Things that have happened

So this is what has been happening so far. Aidan is now toilet trained!!!! He is also eating food. So YAY on that front. How diid this all happen? Well I had to go to Sydney, last week, and have a hysterectmy to rid evil cancer from my body once and for all and Michael Brown was in charge. So, I could go down the guilty mum road and cry and winge that I'm a bad mother, and Mike's a better parent but I won't because I know I'm not. I'm just related to a dwarf scam artist, who smiles his cute smiles or cries and mummy lays down while he walks all over me. But life is now over in AJland Iam better(sort of,have very sore tummy at the moment) and bad cop daddy has snapped him into line.

Michael Brown has declared that after his week of looking after his little loved ones, that I must now go to uni and get a degree that earns around the same money as he does so he can quit and be a house husband. I'm thinking telling him to bake a cake for the playgroup mummies was not a good idea!! Anyway he loved it and I'm thinking the positive side of having ones organs removed is that being Lady Muck is excellent. Thank you Joanne for Tess the cleaning lady; Michael Brown is my cook and Gabriella Louise is excellento in getting herself ready in the mornings for me. Now if I can get Aidan to learn how to do either head or foot massages life would be perfect.hehehe. Really my friends all is good in Brownie land xxx

Rodeo comes to town

The long weekend in October was a pleasure/pain sort of weekend.

On one hand my sister and brother in law came to town to hang out and see the rodeo.

But the flip side was our dear friends the Strom's were leaving to go back home to Canada.

Aidan and Owen(Strom' youngest) are little best buds so it nice to watch them hang out getting into whatever they could.

Our mantra for the weekend was YEE-HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Trilby

We went to Trilby Station at the end of September with friends, for the weekend.

The station is located by the Darling River, near Louth, a little villiage about a hourand half north west of Cobar. One could say we went bush forthe weekend. hahaha yes busher than where I already am haha.

Good times were had: we celebrated three birthday's, spent time with the Strom's who departed Australia the following weekend to return back to Canada and the kids sort of went lord of the flies on us down by the river with their engineering skills on how to cross the river WITHOUT adult help ...... everyone survived!!! I however had something touch me in the clay coloured river attempting to take photo's.

Would go back again, next time however can do without the dust storms, we went the following weekend after THAT dust storm and they kept on coming!!

All in all everyone had a relaxed happy and fun weekend

Sydney

More pics of Sydney........

Sydney

We went for a quick trip down to Sydney at the end of August. Had fun catching up with family and friends.

We had loads of fun playing the tourist as well......

August was a funny month. Busy but not so busy.

We went up to Gunnedah one weekend to check out some investment opportunites.

Gunnedah is hailed as Koala capitol of Australia, but we were unlucky in seeing any. All saddness about not seeing koala's was soon forgotten when the "Golden Arches" was spied. We had a fun weekend especially running through the canola fields on the way home!!!

HAHAHA I'M SLACK

Well fellow followers how slack am I...
This year has gone so quickly.
So thought I'd put some pics up to show you how the last 3 months have been going!!
August was the annual Cobar Public Sports Day, where lots of fun was to be had. Aidan even was allowed to get in on the act.

Clark's in Cobar

Our very good friends the Clark's came through town last Thursday.
They are on a 7 week drive up to El Questro wilderness station...... Just drive straight up to Darwin and then turn left and drive straight into the Kimberley's.
Anyway it was fantastic to catch up with them.
Gabby, Kayne, Georgia and Aidan had a blast.

Devils Rock...Cobar's own monalith!!!

This is at the heritage park which tells all about Cobar's mining history

So after spending Christmas with grandma and grandpa, family Brown drove down the coast of Queensland and we stopped for a couple of days of R&R at a little seaside town called Bargara.
This place is divine. It's the most northern surf beach before the reef starts.
The sea turtles come here to lay their eggs, and it's a cruzy little town that has not been over run by tourists!!!

Also the town of Bunderburg is only about 15 k's west so everything is close by if the need arises.

The Bunderburg rum factory is there as well!!

So why am I telling you this????

We fell in love and this is our little unit that we bought.

It's just delightfull.

This is the view from the grassed area out the front of our unit.

Look at that.
Brown boy has decided that he wants to be the maintenance manger at the Bundy rum factory, and this is where we should move to......
Maybe but not just yet!

So this is what our little house looked like back when we first moved in.
Have no photo's of the back yard, which is a pity as it was heaps worse than the front.

But it's taken nearly three years to go from this..............

To this!!!!!

We got rid of the big palm tree and you can't see it but we have also put in a frog pond.
Now when people come over we can tell them our number instead of the old line of "just look for the worst yard in the street"

Thursday, July 2, 2009

Hiho,
This is just a quick little note to say hi to everyone and welcome to the Cobarland blog of the family Brown......
We have had a very busy 2009 so far and it looks to busy for the rest of the year.

Feb: Finally found out that Aidan has glue ear, he got grommits put in, and his tonsils and adnoids out.
Gabriella started school- year 1

March: Got Aidan a BIG BED!!!!! this went great for the first week and then the special boy that he is found out he could get out of bed and into his parents. We have not been alone since.
Samantha found out that she has cervical cancer

April: Aidan turns 3!!! Had a big party for the little man. Grandma and Grandpa came down from Mackay for the event.
Samantha got evil cancer removed

May: The famous Cobar Show was on and Michael sold a kidney to pay for all the rides and showbags.
Cobar races were on the following weekend. Michael and Samantha were in charge of running the Peak social clubs marquee. would love to show pics but someone decided to borrow(don't want to say stole) Sam's camera and not give it back!!!

June: Gabriella turns 7!! Aunty Fi (Sam's sister) and Uncle Erick came out for the celebrations and since grandma and grandpa were in Sydney they tagged along as well. So we had fun with the family, and Gabstar ended up having 3 cakes. Life is hard when you turn 7.

So that't it for now my friends will blog soon
cheers Sam xxx
